The Union and the Company met today in formal session. The Union conveyed the following message to the Company:
The Union and the Company over the last few days have had some issues around our members showing support for one another and this bargaining committee. The Premises Technicians took a United Stand and were joined by their fellow members demonstrating their want for fairness and respect. It is clear by the show of support that our members are engaged and enraged with where things are at in bargaining.
We want the Company to recognize what our members - your employees are saying!
Show us Respect! Enough is enough! We Stand Ready and United to do all that is necessary to achieve a fair contract!
John Britton an AT&T spokesperson is quoted as saying “we’re committed to working with the Union to bargain a contract that will allow us to continue to provide and protect high-quality middle class careers for our employees.”
The Company’s attacks on Employment Security, Health Care and Pensions, along with the overall retrogressive proposals run counter to PROVIDING AND PROTECTING HIGH QUALITY, MIDDLE CLASSCAREERS!
THESE RETROGRESSIVE DEMANDS MUST COME OFF THE TABLE!
We are restating our Union Proposal #1 is on the table, proposing to move all employees into Appendix A!
It is time for the Company to show the respect our members deserve. We stand ready and willing to get a fair contract, and our members will do whatever is necessary to achieve justice!
In Unity Your Bargaining Committ
