CWA District 9 AT&T West Bargaining Bulletin #26
Friday April 6th, 2012

The Company presented a revised Health Care proposal today, CP #1B. While there was a little movement on their part in the second year, it would still have the members paying 32% of the overall cost by 2015. Currently the contribution is approximately18%. The Company wants to shift Health Care costs to the members, talk about taking the LOW ROAD!

The Company also presented their first Wage proposal, CP# 32, if you want to call it that! Their proposal only provided a 1.25% for the 1st year, a $500.00 lump sum bonus the 2cd year, and 1.5% the 3rd year, applied only to the top step. Premises Techs- to add insult to injury, a $400.00 lump sum each year of the contract! No general wage increase!

You read Bargaining Bulletin #23 outlining Randall Stephenson's pay, over $22,000,000.00 in overall compensation; well he's not the only Executive raking in the profits of your Labor!  John T Stankey, Group President and CSO – overall compensation- $11,459,959.00, and his Supplemental Health Insurance Premiums-$11,676.00!

Benefits and pay aren't an issue for their Executive Officers.
Let's see, how did Randall Stephenson start this Company down the LOW ROAD? The T- Mobile merger, which resulted in a loss of Four Billion Dollars in penalties paid to T-Mobile! The failed Consumer Based Health Care Concept. The fact that AT&T has no Corporate Plan! According to the Company bargainers, there is no Business plan for AT&T in the future! Yet the Company won't agree to Successorship language in bargaining!

It is time for AT&T to make significant movement!

While there is movement from the Company, it is too little- though it is not too late for them to get serious and present proposals that will address the concerns of our members. We expect fair compensation for our work, and benefits that they offer for their Executive Officers. This Company has made more than Eleven Billion Dollars in profits last year!

The Union has been meeting in full session with the Company and meeting in subcommittee sessions making for a very busy day. We will be meeting late into the night preparing for bargaining with the Company tomorrow.

Keep on mobilizing! Pictures from the field show the members wearing red- carrying information picket signs and standing in Solidarity! Keep on wearing your Union colors and Working to the Rule!

CWA is working hard to put AT&T back on the high road. However it appears AT&T chose the Low Road. Clink on the link below to read our preliminary report on AT&T:
