CWA D-9 AT&T West Bargaining Bulletin #21
Friday March 30, 2012
Eight Days to Go
Apparently AT&T entered bargaining with the position that it wasn't going to spend any money on this Contract! They want YOU to do all the spending with their givebacks and take aways on the table!
The Company is not moving off its retrogressive Healthcare proposal. AT&T wants to shift the costs of Healthcare to you. The Company rejected Union Proposal #39 + #39A on Healthcare and the Employee Health and Wellness Program and proposed Company Proposal #30 a Wellness Program, contingent on the Union accepting Company Proposals #'s 1+2 which guts the Benefit plans!
The Union modified Union Proposal #6A to #6B regarding paid time off, and the Company rejected it today.
The Company also rejected Union Proposal #32 Successorship. The Union proposed Successorship language to protect the Bargaining unit in case AT&T decided to sell any parts of the Business covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. This weekend the Union will meet with the Company in sub-committee and work on Sunday preparing for next week. Eight Days to Go!
The District 9 Mobilization committee has been meeting to review the activities for the next week. Mobilization is not a Spectator Sport! If you want a good contract, then be prepared to fight for one. Get with your Local Mobilization Coordinator and help out. Work2the Rule, wear your Union colors and show solidarity for your Bargaining Committee.
The Strike Vote will be announced shortly, Locals are finishing counting ballots. Be prepared and get your Strike Assignment if you have not done so already.
Your Bargaining Team is working hard to get you the Contract you deserve. AT&T is a Fortune 500 Company which boasts about its profits on Wall Street, and wants to cry poor mouth at the Bargaining Table. Eleven Billion Dollars in profits last year! Stop Taking the Low Road AT&T and help build the American Dream!
Keep on Fighting For the American Dream!
In Unity, Your Bargaining Team
