KEEP UP THE MOBILIZATION! IT IS GETTING HOT OUT THERE!
Apr 20, 2012
Informal and subcommittee meetings with the Company continued today and yesterday. Your Union Bargaining Committee stands ready to meet with the Company at any time to reach an agreement!
To keep you informed, listed below are some of the important Union issues still on the table:
Employment Security- The Company wants to have the right to unilaterally cancel Employment Security, a right we have fought long and hard to achieve!
Benefits- The Company is trying to shift Medical costs to you rather than work with the Union to curb costs!
Wages- The Company has offered 1.25%, 1.5% and 1.5%. A miserly proposal that doesn’t keep up with the cost of living, or pay for the Medical they are proposing.
The Company also wants to Eliminate Double time, Eliminate Sunday premium pay, pay a maximum of 5 days for illness absence with a 2 day waiting period prior to being eligible for the first day of pay for each absence.
Holidays- Eliminate Presidents Day and the day after Thanksgiving and replace them with PDO’s, like you can get a PDO! Cancel Religious time off. Eliminate vacation time pay if you voluntarily leave the company- (retire or quit).
Sales Quotas- The Company wants to unilaterally set quotas and discipline our members for not meeting the quotas!
Branded Apparel- The Company wants all customer interfacing members to be under a mandatory apparel program. Add the Appearance policy and we will all look alike! Next will be mandatory diction lessons so we can sound alike, ya’ll!
Premises Technicians- Elimination of all the improvements made during the last round of negotiations and gains made during the life of the agreement!
At least 50 Premises Technicians took a stand today and refused to take off the Where’s the Fairness Stickers. The workers continue to stand together outside the gates of their work locations!
It’s time for each and every member to ask themselves two questions: “What have I done to help our bargaining team get a fair contract?” And, “What am I willing to do over the weeks ahead?”
Keep fighting for the American Dream!
In unity Your Union Bargaining Team!
