CWA D-9 AT&T West Bargaining Bulletin #16

Wednesday March 21, 2012

The Union and Company met in full committee today. The Company rejected the Union’s counter to theirCompany proposal #21 Home Dispatch. They presented a modified Home Dispatch proposal, Company #21A. The Union rejected their proposal #21A out of hand and told the Company that we have no interest in a proposal that the Company controls and the Union has no input on behalf of its members!

The Company rejected Union proposal #12 Appendix C Class A Drivers License Differential andalso rejected Union proposal #28 Company Stock Plan.

The Union presented two (2) proposals today. Union proposal #37 Pension; this proposal provides better pension benefits to all Cash Balance #2 plan participants, increases to the pension bands and would provide a pension cola for current and future retirees. The Company immediately rejected the proposal stating that “the Company has no interest or desire to bargain over current retirees”. The Union replied on behalf of the current retirees, “the retirees have been the vital reason for the success of AT&T and the Union will continue to seek improvements with the hope that the Company will change its mind”.

The Retirees built AT&T!! Randall Stephenson’s compensation in 2010 was $27,341,628! In hourly wages that is $13,145.01 an hour! But AT&T rejects outright a proposal to increase current and future retirees a cost of living allowance!

Union proposal #38 Article 4.03B added language to clarify that Term Positions are not intended to supplant Regular Requisitions.
